Provides services to recently discharged veteran, disabled veterans and veterans having a hard time finding a job. Services include military to civilian occupation skills translation for resumes; vocational assessment and career counseling to assist veterans in the transition from military to civilian careers; identification of military skills and training to obtain civilian occupations through licensing and re-credentialing; identification of specialized educational needs and financial planning assistance; and peer-to-peer supportive services.
CVI operates transitional and supportive permanent housing facilities. Transitional housing assists veterans to move beyond emergency shelter into a more independent living situation. All facilities require that residents maintain a sober and drug-free environment. During that time, the goal is to get the veteran ready for work and the move to permanent housing. Veterans living in CVI residential facilities are provided with a variety of support services such as transportation, mental health and substance abuse services and job training.
