Greetings,
Mental Health America of Wisconsin (MHA) is now recruiting 2-6 new members to join our Board of Directors. MHA is an affiliate of the nation's largest and oldest community-based network dedicated to helping all Americans live mentally healthier lives. We represent a growing movement of Americans who promote mental wellness for the health and well-being of the nation – every day and in times of crisis.
MHA touches the lives of millions by:
- Advocating for changes in policy
- Educating the public and providing critical information
- Delivering urgently needed programs and services
We have identified a number of skills that we would like to incorporate into our Board of Directors as we grow. Our particular needs are:
- Personal mental health and/or alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA) experience
- Accounting/Financial Management
- Information Technology
- Fundraising and grant writing
- Marketing
- General contracting/building
- Cultural competence
- Non-Profit Administration
Our highest commitments continue to be enthusiasm and deep commitment to mental health. The MHA Board is a working board that offers both top level governance and hands-on direct service. Board members are expected to participate in fundraising activities, serve on at least one committee, attend bi-monthly board meetings and to contribute on average 5-10 hours of MHA work per month. In return you will be working with a great team to address economic, environmental, and social issues with in your community.
If you are interested in joining the MHA Board of Directors and able to meet the expectations listed above, we strongly encourage you to send a letter of interest and resume to Kristina Finnel at kristina@mhawisconsin.org .
Sincerely,
MHA Board and Staff
