Provides an intensive educational program that teaches nonviolent relationship skills and communication to people who have a history of perpetrating domestic violence. Also provides related services to enhance life skills, stability, and functioning of the batterer (e.g. literacy; GED services; job training; parenting; alcohol and other drug abuse (AODA) assessment and referrals; and basic victim safety services.

Services include an advocacy program that provides direct services, advocacy and support for children who witness or experience domestic abuse; a TTY Telephone Information Service for the deaf and hard of hearing to give family violence information and referrals directly to TTY users (414-875-0383); interpersonal violence presentations for schools, churches, correctional facilities, social service agencies, and other organizations on the issue of family violence and working with African American populations; family violence prevention advocates who provide intense case management and advocacy services for families who need assistance in accessing community services and supports; an abuser treatment program for men; and programs for teens. The outpatient mental health and substance abuse treatment clinic that is culturally responsive and specializes in family counseling regarding childhood and adult victimization; anger; grief and stress behaviors; and the intersections between family abuses, mental health, and substance abuse problems.

Takes referrals on cases of alleged child abuse or neglect from the public 24 hours-a-day. Intake workers screen calls and assign a response time before forwarding the case to one of five sites for assessment. Intake workers also provide callers with social service resources.

Provide victims of domestic violence with food; warmth; security; transportation; empathy; and support. Provides counseling and advocacy for the purpose of enhancing their self-esteem and further moving them toward a life free from violence and abuse. 24-Hour Domestic Violence Hotline handles crisis; information and referral calls; calls from law enforcement officers from throughout MilwaukeeCounty who are investigating at the scene of domestic violence incidents; and calls from the Milwaukee County Sherriff's Department regarding the imminent release of individuals taken into custody during domestic violence incidents. The Hotline is also used to screen calls for admittance to the shelter. Bilingual: Spanish.

The Task Force on Family Violence provides education, advocacy and resources to keep people safe. TFFV is a private, non-profit organization that provides services for all adult victims of abuse, children who have been abused or have witnessed domestic violence and women perpetrators of violence.

TFFV advocates help victims develop safety plans as well as provide confidential case management services that include information and referrals for community resources such as shelter, child care, counseling, health care, restraining orders, legal assistance and other needs. Support and education groups are also available.

Specific programs include:  Legal Emergency Assistance Program (LEAP); Restraining Order Clinic; Children's Advocacy Program; and Ending Violence through Education (EVE). Bilingual: Spanish; Russian.
