Stress, depression and anxiety are significant issues in today's workplace that can result in decreased productivity, increased absenteeism, poor work quality and low morale. Considering that one in five people will experience a mental health problem in a given year, no workplace is unaffected. Proactively addressing
mental health as part of your employees overall health and well being can b ring significant benefits. In fact, it can positively affect the entire culture of your company.
If your company does not have an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), or if you are interested in supplementing your current offerings, the Healthy Mind Connection provides a low cost way to get basic information and resources about how to understand and manage mental health in the workplace. This year, make your focus on prevention and early intervention by holding a manager training session, a brown bag seminar or by making resource materials available to your employees. Choosing to address mental health in the workplace is simply good business!
