MHA was awarded the Garrett Smith Youth Suicide Prevention Grant.
The three year grant began on August 1st. Key components of the grant include: working with three Wisconsin communities to demonstrate how multiple evidence-based suicide prevention practices can be integrated to impact youth suicide; integrating suicide prevention competency into the entities responsible for providing training to schools and child welfare staff; enhancing education of mental health professionals on suicide prevention; addressing suicide prevention in a number of subpopulations known to have elevated risk; and building on our current training and community education and outreach.
MHA played a key role in the development of two training DVDs on workplace wellness.
MHA received a grant to build on Wisconsin United for Mental Health’s (WUMH) efforts to address workplace mental health and, as part of this, has created an advisory committee of public and private partners with interest and expertise in this area. Partners to this grant also include two business organizations which together represent about 2,000 employers in southcentral and southeast Wisconsin, expanding our capacity to reach out to business.
Recently MHA played a key role in the development of two training DVDs on workplace mental health called Mental Health @ Work: The Competitive Advantage. View them at https://connect.wisconsin.gov/dhsmentalhealthatwork/ and https://connect.wisconsin.gov/dhsmetalhealthatworkpart2.
