Suicide prevention and intervention is being featured at this year’s Crisis Intervention Conference in Wisconsin Dells on September 29-30.

The 20^th Anniversary of an extraordinarily popular and top quality conference this year will feature two experts in suicide prevention.

• Shawn Christopher Shea, M.D. discussing The Elusive World of Psychosis and the Delicate Art of Uncovering Suicidal Ideation and Intent.
   
• Thomas Joiner, Ph.D. the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Association of Suicidology, the Journal of Suicide and Life Threatening Behavior will discuss Why People Die by Suicide and Acquired Suicidal Capability and its Role in Murder-Suicide. 

Both Shea and Joiner will present keynotes and hold breakout sessions on state-of-the-art approaches suicide detection and prevention.

Also featured in this year’s conference is Hank Steadman, Ph.D. founder of National Policy Research Associates and instrumental at the GAINS Center for Behavioral Health and Justice Transformation. In addition to a keynote on Balancing Public Safety and Health for Justice Involved Persons with Mental Health Conditions, he will offer workshops on:

• Justice Involved Veterans with Mental Health Conditions
