The goal of this program is to work collaboratively with the 8 Independent Living Centers (ILCs) across the state to improve access and outcomes for persons with substance use disorder and/or mental health (SUD/MH) issues who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing or Deaf-Blind (D, HOH, DB). The Project Coordinator will provide education, outreach and technical assistance to members of the target population as well as SUD/MH service providers throughout the state. In addition, the Project Coordinator will assist in implementing the SUD/MH-related goals of the strategic plan which identifies state-level goals that will lead to sustained, aligned and collaborative partnerships, leadership and action among people who are D, HOH or DB and multiple partners in the substance use disorder and mental health systems. The Project Coordinator, Denise Johnson does not provide one on one counseling.
